THE SEASON'S ORACLE

The Moon is the Mirror of the Goddess

Lilith First Half Moon

The feminine spiritual message is perpetually revealed by the turning of the seasons, and, above all, we see our own experience of transitions and changes mimed by the moon's monthly orbit. Like the faces of the moon, women's own cycles, moods, and roles pantomime the ever-changing Essence of female sexual and spiritual power   The Mother-god's most important lesson is that Divinity exists in everything and all life is sacred and erotic. Her lessons are shown in circles, cycles, spirals, webs, and wheels. These symbols of turning, holding, connecting, enfolding, embracing, and returning are all metaphors for Life in the Feminine Way.

THIS IS THE SEASON OF
SPRING EQUINOX
and
THE WILD WOMAN ARCHETYPE

The season begins on MARCH 20, and ends MAY 1. It is symbolized by the third moon-phase, the First Half (or First Quarter) moon.

~ FIRST-QUARTER MOON ~ SPRING EQUINOX ~ The waxing half-moon rises around noon, and hovers, translucent, in a clear daylight sky. Then, it pierces the night with its half-light, until setting shortly after midnight. Its shape suggests something of an opened cocoon, or a broken egg-- something released from containment. Like the Wildwoman Archetype, it brings a phase of “crisis in action” and marks a time for breaking free of past restrictions. It is a phase of radical, instinctive movement, made for the sake of survival, evolution, freedom. It wakens our primal hunger-- the cry of Life, itself.

SPRING EQUINOX: (March 21) This seasonal holy day proclaims the re-birth of Earth-- its release from the dark days of winter death into spring‘s budding creation, when life breaks out. Rain refreshes soils that open to the increasing light and warmth. Spring festivals mark a time of rejoicing in a world renewed. Eggs and rabbits symbolize the season’s fertility and sacred mysteries.
