THE SEASON'S ORACLE

The Moon is the Mirror of the Goddess

Snake Dancer Gibbous Moon

The feminine spiritual message is perpetually revealed by the turning of the seasons, and, above all, we see our own experience of transitions and changes mimed by the moon's monthly orbit. Like the faces of the moon, women's own cycles, moods, and roles pantomime the ever-changing Essence of female sexual and spiritual power   The Mother-god's most important lesson is that Divinity exists in everything and all life is sacred and erotic. Her lessons are shown in circles, cycles, spirals, webs, and wheels. These symbols of turning, holding, connecting, enfolding, embracing, and returning are all metaphors for Life in the Feminine Way.

THIS IS THE SEASON OF
BELTANE
and
THE MUSE ARCHETYPE

The season begins on MAY 1, and ends JUNE 21. It is symbolized by the fourth moon-phase, the Gibbous moon.

~ GIBBOUS MOON ~ BELTANE ~
Gibbous Moon is the “brimming cup” phase. It rises close to sunset, its face radiant, nearing culmination. This marks a time of rising hopes, increasing confidence. Enthusiasm, excitement, creative imagination are heightened, as the anticipation of reward rouses determination to succeed. Focus turns toward finding meaning and purpose in life, seeking constructive answers to problems, throwing light on questions posed about ourselves and our world.

BELTANE: (April 30, May 1) May Eve. Summer’s Edge. By May Day, the storms of spring have subsided, and Nature unfolds, releasing her newborns in calmness and confidence. Festivities honor growth, outreach, merriment. Trees are symbolic of this holy period world-wide-- exhibited in the May Pole, around which we dance to twine our dreams.
